1,2 million people were expected to be around the Burj Khalifa area for NYE. Taxis dropped people off 4km from this point, because it was faster to go by feet. We had our NYE dinner away from city center but still with a view of the fireworks.

Everybody talked about it being "the world's biggest fireworks". But nope. It only lasted 10 minutes, but it was beautiful and different due to it's fitting to the shape of the tower. Geneva wins this one with its 1h show, synchronized music, and different themes each year for Fetes de Genève.
